Tis The Season To Be Jolly

Ok i swear this is the last post before starting on Japan. Had to tell you about my favourite time of the year, when there's something special in the air (besides haze) and you just can't help but feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.

2 days before christmas, the celebrations are already underway with a gathering at Reagan's house. We tried to do a Korean army stew but cheated by using instant ramyeon powder while adding in steamboat ingredients. Aiya the soup same colour can liao la.

As our pot was too small, the soup kept drying up and we had to top up with water and powder. Quite fail because the meal was mostly waiting for soup to boil instead of eating. Heng Rea's mom surprised us with nice dry laksa and 漏风 french fries to keep us from starving. Thanks auntie!

The burden Jh refers to are the sweet potato teokbokki (rice cakes), which looks and tastes exactly like erasers. In life you make many mistakes, and in 50 years we will look back on this and think "fuck that purple rice cake".

Alas, food is secondary when you have great company like this. Had a wonderful time seeing Kl unleash all his bullshit on Ivy, and Jl's chain feeding despite Yc's pleas for mercy.

Oh noes soon it's going to just the 2 of us single dogs left, but it's ok i'm willing to be your Phyllis.

On Christmas Eve, we celebrated our little princess' birthday with a chalet and bbq at Downtown East. Holy shit, the last time i went to a chalet we slept with Qh (the normal zzz type) and ate cup noodles with Sarah -.-

The newly renovated D'Resort at downtown east looks really neat, but the room rates are fking chor for a night's stay. Knn $200 per night for this room i might as well go back Tampines and sleep.

My brother really went overkill for his baby girl. Got bbq still order catering, is it we trying to feed the whole Pasir Ris beach?

There's something about bee hoon and curry that makes little Jiesheng grow hard. Noob photo blur blur but it's not like i'm some kind of food blogger or something.

While the children play and watch cartoons in the cosy air con room, the men are on grill duty.

Our self marinated kurobuta pork chops were so very succulent. I want to thank kikkoman teriyaki sauce for making us look like Gordon Ramsay.

No better way of cooking prawns than bbqing them. How i wish i have an oppa to peel the shells off for me tho...*twirls hair*

Hehehe my cute baby niece looking so paiseh and lost. At least still better than your first birthday where you cried through the whole cake cutting ceremony...

It was so chill and relaxing that night, just talking cock and having strangers randomly counting down with us. Christmas is in the air! But in life you make many mistakes, and in 50 years we will.... ok we already did this earlier, but the key lime nachos was indeed a nasty choice. 'Hint of lime' sibo 明明 is a punch of lime in the face. So fking sour.

Enormous leg of ham on the day itself, an annual tradition for the feast at the Xu's. This year, we promised to cut down on the food as we had been eating non stop for the past 2 days-

-Cut down simisai?? We ate and ate but only managed to clear half of the food before repenting on the decision to cook so much shit

But Xmas 就是要这个吃到想死的感觉, surrounded with family and friends. Saying goodbye to 2017 and welcoming an exciting 2018 with open arms! (It's already May now exciting lan pa). Stay tuned for the Japan trip, coming out whenever my lazy ass finishes writing it.
