2021 Recap: The New Normal

Welcome to 2021 in the middle of 2023. Because there were no travels during covid, we get to fast track to the year end review which is much needed since i have 6 years' worth of content in 2022 alone.

Covid measures were slowly getting relaxed, which meant we could finally get the gang together without breaking any laws.

And we did just that for our CNY reunion dinner. My attempt to prepare a Korean army stew hotpot was laughable but fortunately, i've watched enough Family Outing to know how to salvage such cases.

With the additions of fresh crab, clams and meatballs, the meal actually ended up being quite decent. Even though i had unintentionally cooked a nourishing seafood soup instead, my friends happily packed it all up.

Cannot visit Japan so we regularly watched 1 hour long videos of people wandering aimlessly in Japan. Kinda feels like porn where you can only view but not experience it.

Speaking of R21 stuff, my bed has played host to many different girls and guys, but none of whom i have had sexual relations with.

Sometimes i get random friends popping by just to take a nap before carrying on with their day. Das right, everyone is welcome to Hotel 935.

Sometimes we pull the uno reverse and surprise others when they are not home to test the limits of their pa jiao cat.

And sometimes the cats pull the uno reverse and test the limits of Jl.

The comfort of my bed attracted homeless people all the way from Indonesia.

At one point, Vina came over so often that she managed to become friends with the kiddos.

Sometimes she brought snacks..

Sometimes she brought insects..

Sometimes i wonder what kind of bad influence she brought along with her.

I had considered taking up boxing in an attempt to lose weight but gave up the idea as nothing would help against retard strength anyway.

So instead, i finally decided to buy my own bicycle just as the whole of Singapore got into cycling.

Wah Jl very good at riding. We rode quite frequently as phase 3 weekends in Singapore were mundane. With practice, we began to ride longer and further distances.

We cycled to prata.

To MBS.

To ION Orchard.

To Takashimaya.

To prata.

To PIE.

To Ang Mo Kio.

To prata.

To Stevens.

To Tiong Bahru.

To prata.

To Yishun Dam.

To Keppel Island.

To murtabak when we got sick of prata.

Occasionally, we had to refuel on the road when the prata was one pedal too far.

Picture taken seconds before disaster.

Jh's iphone 7 slipped out of his very shallow pockets right into the greenish, murky pond at Punggol settlement.

The rescue effort wasn't as straightforward as we had hoped due to some of the residents living in said pond. Hilarity ensues.

The fucking tortoises just seem to love Jh and kept swimming over while he was attempting to find his phone. Happy to share that he not only found it, but it actually revived and was back in working condition after being in a coma for a few minutes.

We also cycled to play drones.

To have picnics.

And to see dinosaurs.

Alas, cycling once per week was not enough to see a dip on the weighing scale, so we also began exploring other sports.

But those badminton sessions also went down the drain because of prata.

Hit the big 3 while remaining as a 单身狗.

But who needs to be attached when you have so much love in 1 photo?

This balloon tho, was an eyesore in my room for 2 weeks until it finally deflated.

More useless gifts but at least these printouts are slightly better than an extendable teaspoon.

Love is in the air as the first couple of MSE got hitched.

Reagan rented a dua ki Vellfire and a dua ki Jh to be his driver on his dua ki day.

So spacious and comfortable that with Jl and Th, there was still 90% of free space available.

Looks like a lovely place to play dice at 3am.

With the prep work done, all that's left to do was to ensure that Jh was not late on D-day.

Couldn’t be more proud to watch my cute little friend grow into a long, handsome man.

But the photographer was even more kawaii with his sweaty, smiley face.

Spot the 2 uncomfortable faces as we were forced to watch Jl and Reagan la ji.

After fetching the bride, we headed to Bedok Reservoir for more photo taking.

Before enjoying some delicious nasi lemak made by Reagan's mom.

Sorry Dylan, but i should be the one serving the tea.

Then in the evening came the banquet where we had a great view of the couple, and far away from some rowdy hooligans at a corner of the restaurant.

Truly happy to see my best friends get married and continue to traverse life's many milestones together. Just remember not to get pregnant because i will personally give you an abortion and dig it out so that we can continue travelling the world.

We ended up in my room for the after party where 2 people still refused to say hi to each other.

With the wedding over and done with, it was all prep work for our first overseas trip in 2 years.

Although on most days, the "planning sessions" were just an excuse to jiao wei and not return home.

The thought of going to Switzerland made us 很紧张 so we did a dress rehearsal at Ah Yi's house with our brand new winter jackets.

Ck all decked out and ready for the trip back to Tampines Blk 283.

The festive period was all that was left between us and the new year, and for xmas our feast grew increasingly more atrocious.

Here's my disability on full display.

Not satisfied with a full table in the living room, we had to utilise the dining table as well.

But no matter how much food we prepared, it could not hold a candle to Dad's leftover turkey porridge.

We learned our mistakes from the previous year and countdown-ed to 2022 in the comforts of Ah Yi's house, also celebrating her birthday which was zhun zhun on New Year's Day.

And as we say goodbye to 2021, i have one final little fan service to cap off the entire year. After a year's break due to lockdown in 2020, here's the long awaited chio bu pose compilation for 2021. Enjoy!
