Central Europe 2020 - Day 10: Munich, Germany - Deutsches Museum & Home Sweet Home!

EVERYBODY COME SOME 尖叫声!!! IT'S FINALLY THE LAST DAY!!!! I feel almost as elated as the day i ORD-ed. If i have to write another caption for an old European building i might actually vomit. FYI in this timeline covid hasn't even happened yet lol.

We head to Schneider Brauhaus for our last breakfast of the trip. Yes, a beer hall in the morning is how the locals roll.

For starters, i ordered a couple of Weisswurst sausages which is the one food that i won’t get sick of in Europe. What can i say? I just love putting long things into my mouth. The pretzel had a very interesting texture, rock hard on the outside but gummy on the inside.

And the main course was my new found love. A slice of German 午餐肉 topped with a perfect sunny side up and a bunch of grass for decoration on the side. Yumz.

Spotted a strange looking dog that looks like a broom.

When you have half a day to kill before your flight, there are few better options than visiting the Deutsches Museum.

Because this is the world's largest museum of science and technology and is located smack in the middle of Munich. Das right Singapore, you don’t have to build a Science Centre way out in the slums of Jurong.

There are about 28,000 exhibits from 50 fields of science and technology in this museum. If hearing that doesn’t make your feet sore i dunno what will.

Germany boasts an incredible number of famous scientists such as a certain Albert Einstein. Is it every meal eat sausage and sandwich can grow IQ?

You know they have an insane budget when there’s a full scale ship on display.

But reading terms like kinetic energy makes me feel like going back in time just to skip Tan Siang Guan’s science lessons again.

Looks fun so i asked my mom if i could play this plane simulator for awhile.

Mom: We have plane simulator at home

The plane simulator at home:

Ship navigating simulator for you to learn how to ship me and IU together.

An entire wing dedicated to science related "minigames" which seemed way more fun when i was in primary school.

Sound on to listen to my constipated groans.

Ah want to trick me into exercising with dumbbells on the pretense of a science experiment? Nice try.

I have just scientifically proven that i am hotter than the uncle in the blue jacket. Yeah science!

To fully relive the TPSS experience, i took my chair to sit outside the classroom and went down to the canteen to buy a burger.

Happy to announce that i absolutely destroyed this kid’s score. Get good kid.

With victory in the bag, i was granted access into the mysterious oceanology section.

Spent a few seconds looking into these stupid holes and then i left the oceanology section.

The astronomy area was so fucking huge i hate it.

Seems like people born in the early 1900s love jigsaw puzzles, which explains why Jl enjoys them so much.

In the mining section, you will find sculptures of my niece and nephew when i ask them not to climb on my bed.

Accurate representation of what my neighbours are up to on weekend mornings.

You know some good shit is about to go down when there is dangerous looking equipment protected by a 2 metre high fence.

Added subtitles for those of you who don't speak German. You're welcome :)

When you barely survive a gank on 1 hp and the opponent Zeus presses 'R'.

With slightly damaged ear drums, i felt that was enough science for the day and treated myself to a Mezzo Mix aka orange soda + cola.

That feeling of pure bliss when you know the next bed you sleep in will be your own.

Subway ride to the airport was nice and spacious because nobody wants to stand next to the chinese guy who probably has coronavirus.

Although there were plenty of flights, Munich airport felt quite dead for some reason.

Squeezed in a last luncheon meat meal before boarding my flight, not because i wanted it but because there were no other choices. I would have killed for a bowl of wanton mee at this point.

GDLL

One bummer was that i had to connect flights back in Istanbul.

And that means more shitty Turkish airline food. Come on, there must be more food varieties in Turkey? (spoiler: there isn't)

At this point covid was a genuine concern and i remember dodging a group Chinese tourists who were transiting from Beijing. So this is how those people on the mrt felt...

And after one final shit airline meal later i was home. It's been a long ride and i know i give a lot of crap to Europe but it was fun journeying across the continent alone without dying. Romania had the best food, Hungary had the best views, Austria had the best culture and Germany fucking sucks. I also didn't encounter any scammers thanks to my poor face and at no point did i feel i was in danger besides scaring myself in the creepy labyrinth and mausoleum. But we look forward into an exciting 2020 with more trips to come, and i just know this covid thing is nothing but a simple flu that will be eradicated in a couple of weeks.
