2019 Recap

When i posted the 2018 recap in 2019, i told myself i must do better. Tens of people are counting on me to provide quality content for their viewing pleasure and i cannot let them down. 

Fast forward to the end of 2021 and here i am posting the 2019 recap hahas. Let's look back on better times when we still had mass group gatherings, karaoke sessions and special individuals coming into my life.

I celebrated the turn of the year in true cb zai nan fashion, playing dota at 1/1/2019 00:00am.

Still a better countdown than squeezing with thousands of people to watch fireworks on new year's eve.

We lost our adorable Lassie in 2019... I will miss you sloppily licking my leg hair and molesting all 8 of your nipples at Reagan's house.

But 牛头马面 taketh, and 观音妈 giveth, as a handsome little boy came into my life. Here's my kawaii niece finding out that she became a 姐姐.

Sudden realization that i'm already spending hours at the playground looking after kids and getting called uncle i cannot.

Throwback to when i saw Luis Suarez in my office. 很想咬他.

And Liverpool finally won a major trophy after 14 fucking years. In that same period of time, i've completed secondary school, my diploma studies, served the army and lost my virginity.

Throwback to when a couple of tourists from UAE asked me how to get to the Merlion from Raffles Place mrt and i offered to bring them there. In 30 years of my life i have never seen the Merlion under construction until now...

Played tour guide again when my Vietnamese friends visited and took a selfie with such a strong filter that i can almost pcc to myself.

Invited as "media" to meet Namewee in one of the most boring events ever. Watch them do arts and craft jin bo liao.

Here's when Tampines Mall was almost burned down by a Japanese fair.

Vina had a brilliant idea to start a health club with the goal of doing some form of exercise together once a week. We started with basketball and cycled at Pulau Ubin the following weekend.

But after 2 injuries in 2 weeks, our cursed club was officially closed down for good.

Although he didn't join us, Sj participated in a different kind of heart pounding activity. Oi don't anyhow look at other ppl gf hor.

Because this is what is staring right back at you. No joke he was actually staring at Sj like this throughout the whole drinking session and i have never felt more uncomfortable.

But fan jian is our middle name, so we continued hanging out with them while risking our lives.

Our last MSE bbq before lockdown was way back in 2019 as well. God i miss cooking an obscene amount of food while everyone begs me to stop.

We had so many attendees that we had to put a prayer mat on the side. 没办法朋友多嘛.

Kids, here's a good reason why you should avoid touching alcohol.

One fine day, we randomly visited Boon Lay's Sheng Siong which looks exactly like any other Sheng Siong, but maybe abit smellier.

Ruisong disclosed the secret of this mysterious grandma who only appears around midnight selling nasi lemak from a bicycle. Needless to say, we were intrigued and determined to find her. After an hour of waiting and fearing that she had passed away, we finally found the legend of the west.

The nasi lemak was pretty meh but successfully hunting down the midnight nasi lemak auntie was a victory in itself.

And then we missed the last PIE exit on the way home and ended up at the airport. Fun times.

Managed to catch the eclipse and it was one of the most underwhelming moments of my life.

We spent the final moments of a hectic 2019 exactly the opposite of how it started, watching fireworks near Marina Barrage with thousands of others. Pls my inner cb zai nan cannot.
