Japan 2018 - Day 12: Tsukiji Fish Market & Home

I'm overjoyed to present to you the last day of our Japan trip in 2018. Since the end of this trip:
  • my brother had sex with my sis in law
  • she went through the full pregnancy term
  •  gave birth to my nephew
  •  he's 4 months old now
They are going to be able to form a soccer team by the time i'm done with blogging our Korea trip.

Our last day so how about starting the day ea- CHOTTO MATTE KUDASAIIIII!! Minasan, before leaving for breakfast how about we do a quick house tour?

Jh why your house tour machiam playing dota 1 word also don't want to say? Can add some colourful commentary or at least talk to Kl who is obviously begging for your attention? I expect you to perform much better next time.

Now that i think about it, sleeping in a living room with a tv facing you isn't the brightest idea, especially when we're in the country that came up with The Ring.

Well at least there's a casting couch so i got that going for me..

Flight back to SG was not until later in the afternoon so we had time for a trip to Tsukiji in an attempt to stuff as much seafood down our throats as possible.

A few steps in and my wallet is already feeling lighter. It's time to burn through all our remaining yen.

This little stall selling onigiri alerted my food antenna. You just know that the obasan knows her shit and these riceballs are going to taste fantastic.

It wasn't.

Anyway let's not dwell on our past errors and continue turning ourselves bankrupt. With no particular place in mind, we split up and played eenie meenie miney mo with the hundreds of sushi restaurants here.

A good rule of thumb would be to look at the locals to tourists ratio, which is why i chose this cosy little shop. Also, if the FBI are reading this, i would like to clarify that my intention was definitely not to rub shoulders with those schoolgirls.

Yes it may not be a chiraishi don from Otaru or Sapporo but it's still pretty darn outstanding for SGD $30.

Meanwhile, some people were not very talented in looking for the right place to eat. Seems like they got their "salmon" don from those 50 cent sushi stores.

That was as disappointing as Season 8 of Game of Thrones but at least there's always some other goodies on the streets of Tsukiji Market to make up for it.

Which ah sia kia bought this otoro sushi then never jio lai own up.

Imagine my excitement when i finally saw a Tori Q style shop selling yakitori. These stalls are few and far between because yakitori is mainly sold in bars and izakayas in Japan.

Looks pretty good right? Nice little char drenched with a generous amount of marinade? WRONG MOTHERFUCKER that thing is served cold like a skewer of ice cubes. Tmd like eating frozen chicken sibei gao wei. I managed to share the rest of my skewers with a curious Taiwanese couple and they said it was '真的很不错耶' to my bewilderment. To be fair, our only other experience of eating cold chicken was in Taiwan so if anyone in the world appreciates this shit, it would be them.

Not sure why but i felt this store calling out to me and i just had a sudden urge for some oysters. Very strange.

The oyster she shucked was juicy, sweet and heavenly. Might be due to the fact that i was imagining eating her oyster instead.

"Crab Brain". Like that would entice anyone to shell out SGD $6 for a lump of cat poop on a shell.

Can don't judge me i just have more adventurous tastebuds. Apparently it's some 蟹膏 & guts mixed with miso paste to combat the fishiness. Tasted pretty good actually.

My heart says yes but my wallet is on suicide watch. $50 for a skewer sorry 我做不到.

Where there's Yc, there's daifuku. Handsome, rich, good at dota, employee of the month, it would appear that he is a perfect man. But even the greatest men have their flaws, and his only kryptonite is a strawberry wrapped in mochi with powdered flour.

Ah what a sight. Resembles my constipating anus with half a poop out.

One last souvenir to get before we go. Something that everybody seems to love from Japan..

I WAS REFERRING TO UMBRELLAS NOT THIS. This is a family friendly blog and i would never insinuate something sexual like that.

Back at Otsuka station after retrieving our luggage. Still had some time to kill so we had a wander around.

Fairprice and other supermarkets in SG, please observe and learn from this beautiful cooked food section. 看了很感动.

Unsatisfied by their trip to Tsukiji, the others went to a sushi restaurant nearby for one last chance at redeeming themselves.

Mmm that otoro though. Too bad Ck and i never got a chance to taste it lah because we single so some people relegate us to watch after their luggage then never dabao for us also hais.

Downside to travelling is the dreaded luggage pulling through subway stations. At the end of this trip we probably looked as buff as The Rock.

哥你没事吧

Sigh there's our ALL NIPPON AIRLINES plane which means it's time to say goodbye to good ol' Japan and all the chiobus here. Hokkaido is so laid back and gorgeous. Surrounded by snow peaked mountains, it was a dilemma whether to sleep during the journey from one city to another as you could miss out on the absolutely stunning view. 10/10 would make snow angels while Ck took pictures instead of recording a video again.

Oh and here's the food from the plane. Honestly couldn't remember how it tasted, which the same can be said for half of my Japan posts. Sayonara!
