Taiwan 2019 - Day 5: Tainan 台南, Anping Old Fort 安平古堡 & Anping Old Street 安平老街

Hey hey 欢迎光临 to the final day of this Taiwan trip. We've returned to circuit breaker 2.0 because the SG government wants me to get my blog back on track. So paiseh to everyone, i'll try to catch up so you can go out and have a life again.

I don't believe you've met our trusty steed for our road trip around Taiwan. If you buy the carplate and win 4d pls remember to share the prize with me or my kumantongs will be very angry with you.

House tour coming up! Right after this auntie is done photobombing me.

When you complete the house tour and then realise you filmed it in portrait mode ;;

The rooms and furniture were nice enough.. and then there's the yellowest air con i've ever seen... That shit looks like it's been used since World War 2.

I really tried to find a breakfast alternative in Taichung but literally everywhere else was closed on a Monday morning so we ended up back at this fucking market.

你不要 lie 我, 吃来吃去 this place only got 3 or 4 edible things.

Heng we were able to fall back on River Mountain Lu Rou Fan, which we knew was a safe bet since i had eaten here previously with MSE.

Now you know where i got my over-ordering genes from. Is it they last night dinner never eat enough?

Not as amazing as my new found love in Kaohsiung, but still quite shiok.

I love egg yolk so much that i might even use it as lube. With our tanks refueled, we're now ready to head back down south.

With a magical scroll of your finger/mouse, we have arrived in Tainan! It's noticeably hotter here, possibly because of the milf in the center of the picture.

Honestly, none of the tourist attractions in Tainan seemed remotely interesting but i ultimately decided on Anping Old Fort since it has over 16,000 google reviews.

I know some of you are already rolling your eyeballs at how boring it sounds but come on guys show a bit of enthusiasm. I'm sure there are some really exciting things to see! Like this old wall from the 1600s.

An old tree that probably isn't from the 1600s. Idk man i'm not a horticulturist who replies people only once a day.

Hey there's a watchtower. Let's go check it out.

A more spectacular view can be found from my 4th floor HDB...

看什么大便啦. There aren't any landmarks or skyscrapers in Tainan so i'm not exactly sure what's the point of this tower. Maybe bring binoculars can watch ppl shower in their homes?

Fyi that isn't the biggest cannon my mom got her hands on that day.

Didn't realise 关公 was Taiwanese. You learn something new everyday.

Not gonna lie that was pretty dreadful. Before Dad whipped out his belt again, i whisked them over to Anping Old Street. After all, who doesn't love some shopping and street food.

And then he took out his belt anyway once we saw this shop selling prawn cracker mentaiko ice cream with a dildo shaped cone. What the fuck is wrong with this city?

The shopping wasn't great either but at least it's better than old walls and cannons.

An obviously fake tribal village to fool gullible tourists. Tsk why would anyone in their right mind buy anything from here?

Okay maybe i did buy this fucking bean from that tribal village and obviously it didn't work. I want my 50 cents back but if that means having to return to Tainan then you scammers can just keep the money.

Uncle snuck off to have a meal of lamb hotpot (and papaya milk) by himself, much like Ck and Sj in Japan. The betrayal is real.

As the sun sets on our Taiwan trip, we reflect on all the good food eaten, twmms beo-ed, dad's belts unbuckled and terrible tourist attractions that i will never visit again.

In the beginning i was worried we would be returning the rental car with the help of a towing vehicle. Glad to see it still in one piece.

Ahhh back at the dead Kaohsiung airport where our ride home awaits us.

Surprising to find a food court named after a black person in Taiwan, let's check out how the food tastes.

Didn't expect it to be even 10% of Japan's Yoshinoya and yet i'm still disappointed...

That's all folks! Hope your enjoyed watching my family travel while you're stuck at home while your passports collect dust. Glad that i managed to bring my parents overseas gai gai before covid hit because god knows how long this is going to last. Onto the next one.
