Korea 2019 - Day 8: Skiing at Phoenix Park Ski Resort 휘닉스-파크 (Part 1)

Singapore has entered phase 2 for about a month now, and that means absolutely nothing to us since we are cb zai nans and will continue to stay home and play custom hero clash all day err day.

However, clashing was what we were hoping to avoid on Day 8 of our Korea trip, for this is the day we attempt to finally conquer the skis and soar down the mountains like a magnificent eagle. But before we make heads turn on the slopes, let's get some breakfast.

The hotel's buffet spread was impressive for such a desolate location. Unlike Jh who was clearly still miffed at not appearing at all in my previous post, i see smoked salmon and scrambled eggs Iammahappyboi91.

It may not be a comforting bowl of wanton mee, but old fashioned American breakfast always hits the spot. I am now ready to don those hellish ski boots once more.

Apparently the sun didn't get the memo that it was still winter, glaring down on us in our winterwear and ski equipment. Lesson haven't even start we already shag liao is it we old?

But all that fatigue went out the window when we saw our 2 handsome Aussie guides. Experienced, patient and most importantly handsome like fuck. Hen gian keep act metta so that he will keep holding my hand.

The ski group competing to see who can go the slowest but inadvertently ending up looking like we are all suffering from hemorrhoids.

快乐的时光过得特别快 and we were soon left to our own devices after our 2 hour lesson. We started off as gracefully as a bunch of giraffes on skates.

Bro you trying to bring me down to see 牛头马面 together?

Jh applying the unorthodox technique of flexing all the muscles in his body to slow himself down. 小心 kek sai 出来哦~

But after a hundred attempts of skiing down this pathetic 10m "slope"..

We got better...

..and better...

..until we were able to perform slick ass moves like this. Learning to turn and stop in only half a day omg guys we might be naturals at this.

Delighted that we have reached the levels of a four year old, we treated ourselves to a well deserved snack after our day 1 ski session.

Cheesy egg toast served in a cup. It's exactly how you imagine it but everything tastes better when you've spent the whole day with your legs wide apart as if you've got dua lan pa.

Hold your horses on that convenience store, gentlemen. To celebrate surviving day 1 of skiing, we have something awesome planned for dinner.

All hail the magnificent hanwoo beef, with marbling that's on par with the highest grade of wagyu. 我站了.

Accompanied by thick slabs of samgyupsal aka pork belly which stood hoof to hoof with their mooing counterpart in the buibui department.

Meat with grill marks is sexier than girls in lingerie THERE I SAID IT.

Channeling our inner Gordon Ramsay trying not to overcook the precious meats because the omonim 会拉我们出去砍头.

Oh you fatty glistening beauty, stop fooling around with the onions and get into my mouth.

The best way to enjoy bbq pork belly is by wrapping it in a ssam. Contrast of textures and flavours goes well with the oily, juicy meat mmmm. Everything that was served on our dinner table that night was outstand-

OI who the fuck invited the naengmyeon? Go away you retarded half brother of soba.

Let me take you on an in depth tour of the surrounding ski town. This is the only stretch of shops around resembling civilisation. The end.

If you come here never ski really is shake leg zuo bo, which was us who had nothing else to do but soak in the ski scenes at night. Though i did enjoy the floodlights reflecting off the snow, giving a dreamy feel.

At the same time, Jh was chasing his dream of finding the godlike beef burger i had from Lotteria earlier on the trip. Unfortunately i forgot what i ordered and we never found it again. RIP nice Lotteria burger 2019 - 2019.

So supper ended up being a rather somber affair with just cup noodles and finger food from CU. But no disappointment, only enthusiasm as we were well ready for the second day of action the following day, this time up the ski lifts and onto the beginner slopes. Let's try to get through it with as few counts of manslaughter as possible.

- End of Day 8 -
