Taipei 2012

Went to Taiwan from 27th to 31st Oct. Covered only Taipei as we didn't want to spend too much time on travelling instead of enjoying ourselves. For people heading to Taipei looking for a reference here's the link to our itinerary:

Pretty expertly made isn't it? Hope it helps. And to the readers, gonna be a loooong post ahead.

-----  DAY 1  -----

We fucked up big time on the first day. Reveille at 0530am and proceeded to Changi Airport Terminal 2 to meet up with the others. Jh was late as usual.
A pimple shot to start off our journey

lol

We suspect this guy keep scold our mothers. He keep laugh laugh then mumble smth towards us. We hen sure

The calm before the storm

So everyone arrived and we checked in to get our air tickets. We passed immigration, all except one. We saw Kl talking to the immigration officer, at first thought it was nothing much, then he facepalmed and we knew something serious happened.
Expert artist impression of Kl facepalm (No pics as we were too devastated but this shall do)

Apparently for PRs there is an exit permit with their passport that allows them to enter Singapore, and Kl didn't check that his had expired. "I think 我没有去了" epic words. But we weren't prepared to let months of planning be ruined and let Kl be left behind. He hurried down to ICA building in Lavender to renew his exit permit. After a long time of thinking of ideas we hurried to jiak breakfast at Mcdonalds as boarding time was soon. The mood of travelling overseas was gone.

A disappointed Mountain God

Sj's lapsap airport fashion

Reagan all dressed to go crossfire

We boarded the plane and then another shocker hit us. The Tiger airways puazui air stewardess told us that our baggage were all under Kl's name, and that if he didn't board, the baggage could not take off with the plane. We requested for last minute changes for baggage to be put under someone else's name but the puazui air stewardess refused. We then requested to hand carry our baggage into the plane but the air stewardess rejected us again, citing security reasons. Then Kl called and said he was outside the boarding gate with his renewed exit permit but was being refused entry to the plane since boarding time had passed. Weird thing was the jetbridge was still there and we told the puazui air stewardess that he was just outside and requested him to be let in. She told us ok and then the pilot got ready for takeoff. What the fuck. Can't flexible abit? He got pass security checks and stuff already. Why can't board? Afterwards the air stewardess mia-ed, while another one came and explained to us that she'll try to arrange for a later flight to come with our baggage.

So here we are, on a plane to 3000km away, my first time out of South East Asia, WITHOUT ANY FUCKING CLOTHES. The delay was about 20-30mins, my apologies to the rest of the passengers we affected due to our cock up though. Although it was our mistake, but as customers we should be given flexibility in such circumstances. The way the air stewardess handled it was very poor. Oh did i forget to mention she was puazui?                      *puazui = split lip
We called Kl and asked him to take the next flight to Taipei, which was 1am later at night, and to bring our baggages with him. He would arive at 6am in the morning.

emo plane trip

Luckily there were these kids to harass cheer us up throughout the flight

Keep fold paper boat throw us. I think we look like dustbin.

stuffed them in Yc's bag while he went to le toilet

Showing Sj his kkj on the plane. Beginning of Perverse Wong

No luggage

Liased with the hotel to provide us with transportation. Waited for the uncle to get the car. First thing he asked: "你们没有行李meh?"

 First look of Taipei. Reminds us of Malaysia.

Checked into hotel at Ximending 西门町 area(without luggage)
and went down to explore.

Lu rou fan + carrot cake + 2 balls @ some random stall

 Orh lua with crappy orange sauce

Of course the first drink in Taipei has to be bubble tea

Crying cause the Omelette reminded him of O levels.
Food was pretty good

Sights @ Ximending

Show Luo's shop

Starts to get dark at 5pm

Apparently the panoramic view looks like shit on blogger

Smelly Tofu. Smells and taste like longkang water. I felt it was alright though.

Excitedly bought pig's blood cake (猪血糕) as it was something that i yearned to try. Was left disappointed as it tasted nothing like pig's blood. More of glutinous rice in peanut powder. Confusing stick of shit.

Lots of street food stalls

AH ZONG MEE SUA

GOD'S SEMEN WITH CHUNKS OF HYMEN. TASTE SO GOOD. Standing at a corner and holding the burning bowl of mee sua was abit gao wei though.

more panoramic

Red Theater House. Famous for gay pubs (which we aren't. We know we hang out with each other alot but we are not. We like each other but not in the love 1314 way, seriously. I like girls.)

Some stalls selling handicrafts. We encouraged Sj to buy lots of weird stuff for Qh, since girls like weird shit.

Nice wantonss

Great dinner full of different night treats.  Shopping here was pretty expensive though. Prices are not that different from SG. Mood was slowly ++ even with the constant reminder of having no luggage when we get back to the hotel. Didn't want to wear my jeans to bed, so wrapped a towel instead. Jin sexy. Slept early as we were all tired from this day of many ups and downs.

~~~~~~ MEANWHILE BACK IN SINGAPORE  ~~~~~~
Kl's day at Changi airport - A diary of a rejected soul
Our luggage that he picked up from the lost and found
His meal while we were enjoying ah zong mee sua
Enjoying foot massage at Changi Airport. Fuck this is sad. Don't worry bro, you'll be with us the next day..
-----   DAY 2   -----
Woke up at 7am in the morning to welcome Kl. Asked the uncle from the previous day to help fetch Kl from the airport.
Newly transformed 台gong
Decent sandwiches
Godlike prata
Lots of shops at Ximending are only open after 12pm
水煎包
The hotel's fking small lift. And the doors don't have sensors and it hurts like hell when the doors kiap you. Everytime we use the lift must try to kiap each other. Childish fucks. Went back to sleep abit more as it was way to early. Then they went for a massage while i went for a haircut.
Our hotel
Met them afterwards and explored more of Ximending
Some singer's autograph signing session
At the other end of the street was some event for Jolin 蔡依林. Lots of her fans dressed up like her new mv for short performances...
like this guy complete with bra...... ewww. We wanted to stick around and catch a glimpse of Jolin but too bad it was raining pretty heavily and we went to have lunch at modern toilet restaurant instead.
台gong stare
Toilet of modern toilet restaurant
Food was below average. The waitresses seemed really impatient too. Guess that it's pretty much the same about these themed restaurants. Not recommended unless you really have a fetish for eating in toilets.
Perverse Wong suggested that the fur resembled someone's pubic hair. Perverse indeed. Took the mrt and headed to Longshan Temple 龙山寺. Just a station away.
.
Thinking about o levels yet again.....
Short walk to Monga street market
Hwahsi Street Market. Well known for its snake blood shots. Too bad we didn't get to try any
Nice chicken sausage rolls
Kl bought 盐水鸡, the chicken was frozen solid, can even taste the ice. Hen gao wei
Some fried fish fritters. Pretty good but i put too much wasabi sauce on it. Eat liao abit shag
More glutinous rice mixed with other stuff. They all taste the same.
Ate alot of small eats. It was a really long street, which had those mini games found in pasar malams. Sale of porn dvds are also a common sight. Headed to Taipei City Hall Station as clubbing was on our agenda.
Xinyi Shopping District. Taipei's version of Orchard Road.
Nth much to walk as the shops were all too elite
He did it!
Went to Club Lava at Neo19
Pretty crowded. Lots of guys LF>Grinding party. We sit 1 side watch.
A drunk Reagan is a cursing Reagan. Scolding taxi driver, and then scolding us because there's a piece of plastic cover on the bottle of mineral water. Also, he transforms into ang moh pai. And finally he transforms into merlion. And then there's semi drunk Sj who keeps wanting to punch Reagan. Carried Reagan back to his room and then went to k.o. Tiring day is tiring.
-----   DAY 3   -----
Woke up late in the morning and went to have breakfast downstairs. Saw this shop full of locals and figured it's got to be something epic.
Went to some musuem of weird stuffs. Similar to Ripleys believe or not at Genting Highlands. Just much much smaller.
A really cool turtle that uses it's tongue(that looks like a worm) to lure little fishes close to his mouth and finish them off. Wasted quite a long time hoping that he would be successful
台gong
with the tattoo of the word 奴 meaning slave
The snake don't want to la ji with me
Lots of street food there and we ate quite abit, but amazingly there were no pics of them. Went to search for 阿婆铁蛋. A famous local delicacy in Taiwan.
Epic 肉圆
Nice bbq squid
Bbq scallops
Black pepper pork buns
We gianed this so much when we saw it on youtube. Lots of melted cheese on top of mashed potatoes, bacon and other toppings. So disappointed when the cheese was watery and tasted diluted.
Moar shopping
Reagan crying @ Shilin
Legs were really soft from all that walking
Smokescreen picture of Taiwan chiobu
Since our legs were all sore we went for a foot massage, no special
More videos to waste your time
Sj and Jh in hell while the rest of us were enjoying
Jh bought some 鸡蛋糕 afterwards from another stall introduced by 沙沙
From the exact same stall with the exact same auntie :
超好吃 lan jiao. jitao fking plain and normal. Jh brought it to a clothes shop and the salesperson said that's the best 鸡蛋糕 in Taiwan. Hen qi guai dun understand why. Was pretty late and we cabbed back to the hotel, as we had a long day planned ahead for the next day.
BUT... we couldn't fking bathe because 2 guys were trying to turn their hotpacks bought from the night market back to normal. Instructions said to use boiled water and since our kettle was broken....
Waited 1 hour 30mins for them to give up and we could finally shower. In the end, the hotpack was still hot and we ended up sleeping at 3am+
-----   DAY 4   -----
Weird things people do early in the morning
Trying to spend every last bit of NTD we have left
Perverse Wong before boarding
lol
Reagan wondering why the flight wasn't heading to Australia....
So that's it! This covers our annual trip. Fking pics took me 1 day to upload and fking post took me 3 midnights to write. Taiwan was great, awesome food, chio taiwan meimeis, mostly friendly locals, so much to love about it. Everyone seems to recognize us as Singaporeans though, either because of the NS hairstyles or the fact that some of us wear too lapsap. The street food are really heaty too, i had nosebleed for 3 days in a row and most of us got ulcers. The lack of dustbins were frustrating at times, but all in all these little things hardly dampened our mood. Would be a great place to visit again. What's for next year? Korea perhaps? Gonna take a shit load of planning and lots of money, but it's not impossible.
TAIPEI TRIP 2012 END
